The real reason your new authority can’t get loads
You did everything right. Authority active, insurance bound, truck ready, Central Dispatch profile live. And the phone doesn’t ring — or worse, the only loads you can get are the ones nobody with options would take.
Here’s what nobody tells you at MC-filing time: you’re not being ignored, you’re being filtered.
The fraud filter you can’t see
Double-brokering scams almost always run on young MCs with empty review profiles — so brokers built their defenses around exactly that signature. Many won’t work with authorities under 6–12 months old. Most won’t touch a zero-review Central Dispatch profile. From their desk, your legitimate new company and a scam operation are literally indistinguishable, and the cost of guessing wrong is a stolen load. So they don’t guess.
Why running clean loads doesn’t fix it by itself
Brokers almost never leave reviews unprompted. You can haul fifty flawless loads and still show a near-empty profile, because the broker who was perfectly happy with your delivery has zero incentive to spend three minutes rating you. Reviews come from asking — politely, promptly, every single load — which is a follow-up discipline most one-truck operations never find time for. That’s the starvation loop: no reviews → bottom-shelf loads → survival mode → no time for outreach → no reviews.
The realistic timeline
With deliberate, load-by-load review outreach, plan on 6–8+ months to build the standing that opens the better boards. Without it, some carriers sit in the hole for years. Every rating point compounds: better loads improve your margins, which buys patience, which builds more history.
How to compress it
Three things move the needle: clean, fast paperwork (BOLs and invoices that make a broker comfortable rebooking a young MC), the review ask on every completed load, and a dispatcher whose broker relationships vouch for you before your profile can. That third one is the shortcut — it’s why our new-authority program exists, and why we built the review-outreach machine into our backoffice instead of leaving it on your to-do list.
